CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Restoration of degraded land in Sub-Saharan ecosystems

Experts will discuss the status of land degradation and its drivers in Sub-Saharan Africa ecosystems. They will also share best practices and successful experiences based on indigenous local knowledge and science-based evidence for upscaling ecosystem restoration and conservation. The forum will also discuss sustainable territorial and ecosystem management, and appropriate policies and approaches for ecosystem restoration and conservation. The outcomes from this event will have an impact on global agendas such as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration on African ecosystems, and attract more resources and institutions dedicated to ecosystem restoration and conservation.
