Parallel session | Sub-theme 2 - Session 2
Sustainably managed forests for biodiversity

This hybrid event will be opened with a keynote speech, followed by key messages from the upcoming FAO-CIFOR forestry paper 'Mainstreaming biodiversity in forest management'. Next, a moderated panel discussion will highlight experiences in the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, in support of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.
Objectives
The main objectives of this session are to present inspirational examples of ways to deliver on commitments related to sustainable forest management (SFM) and biodiversity conservation, and to lay out why upscaling SFM matters for the implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.
