Asia in Focus: Biodiversity and the Business and Human Rights Agenda

4th episode of Asia in Focus

The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP27 was held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. In December 2022, the UN Biodiversity Conference will convene governments from around the world to agree to a new set of goals for nature over the next decade through the Convention on Biological Diversity post-2020 framework process. To further enhance the interlinkage of business, human rights and the environment, UNDP in partnership with the EU, launched a series of webcasts on Business and Human Rights titled “Asia in Focus “ since July 2022.

To reinforce the environment aspect in business and human rights framework, this campaign is aligned with the timelines of both COP27 and UNCBD  COP15.

Asia in Focus is a multi-prong platform focused on the interconnections between business, human rights, and the environment in Asia. Through interactive digital products, reports, short docs and talk shows, the series delves into the controversies and tradeoffs of solving Asia’s water pollution, biodiversity, climate change and air pollution crisis.

To understand recent policy progress and what business can do to align with global biodiversity goals, UNDP is hosting the 4th episode of Asia in Focus: Biodiversity and the Business and Human Rights Agenda
