AB This book presents the farm households’ characteristics, the farming practices, and the smallholders’ perspectives of the upland landscapes that they occupy in three agri-upland sub-districts of Pagar Alam: Central, North, and South Dempo. It summarised results from a survey of 416 farming households in three upland subdistricts of Pagar Alam and a profitability survey of 150 plots across Pagar Alam City. These surveys were conducted between March and July 2019. The household survey results elucidate the five livelihood capitals, characteristics of plots, coffee-farming postharvest practices, landscape visioning, forest utilisation, and shocks and stressors experienced by respondents. The profitability survey produced information on Return to Labour, Return to Land, and the labour and financial capital invested by farmers in the major farming systems in Pagar Alam. ";
