For presentation of general statistical information we recommend an authoritative source of guidance: "Plain Figures" (1996 2nd edition) by Myra Chapman and Cathy Wykes published by H.M. Stationery Office a 148 page book with many full-colour illustrations. "Plain Figures" is particularly intended for those addressing non-specialist audiences; this guide sets out to reinforce and complement it focusing on points most relevant to those presenting structured research results to an informed audience. We give guidelines for layout of graphs charts and tables then for the presentation of results of statistical analyses. ";
