The Phase II Programme on: ‘Improved Capacity in Rainwater Management for Sustainable Development ’ is a continuation of Phase I entitled ‘A Network for Green water harvesting in Eastern and Southern Africa and South Asia’ jointly implemented by the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) headquartered in Nairobi-Kenya in partnership with the Centre for Science and Environment based in India. Phase I was held between 1 July 2002 and 30 June 2008. The approved period for Phase II is thus 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2011 with a total programme budget of 1.9 million Euros. However the Netherlands government with an understanding that ICRAF and CSE would mobilize the remaining funds from other donors and targeted governments approved a three year budget totalling Euro 545000 equivalent to US$735300
