Enabling smallholders in Odisha to produce and consume nutritious food through agroforestry systems

Through a unique partnership fully funded by the State Government of Odisha, India, World Agroforestry implemented the project title ‘Enabling smallholders in Odisha to produce and consume more nutritious food through agroforestry systems. The project reached over 14,000 farmers in four years, covering approximately 10,000 hectares of land in 149 villages in Balangir and Nuapada districts. They received inputs and cultivated and planted saplings on their farms. In addition, 18,650 farmers, including those who were directly involved in the project, were trained under capacity development programmes.
