CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Community testimony: Capacity building to implement agroforestry cultivation and business model

In Pinang Sebatang Barat Village of Siak District, Riau Province, CIFOR conducted Participatory Action Research on Community-Level Business Model (PAR CLBM) at the selected Integrated Forestry and Farming System (Desa Makmur Peduli Api). The project’s overall goal is to support a gradual change in the behavior of local communities for not using fire in land preparation and farming. This goal is approached by developing and testing Community-Level Business Model in a participatory way for fire prevention and improved livelihood.
