CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Mali

Present in Mali since 1989, CIFOR-ICRAF has gained decades of experience and expertise in tree domestication and on-farm tree biodiversity conservation. Working with key stakeholders and local communities, CIFOR-ICRAF has contributed to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through increased incomes and other benefits derived from indigenous trees and shrubs.

The Mali country office, part of the Sahel, aims at reversing land degradation through agroforestry practices, climate-smart agriculture, promotion of fodder crops, and sustainable co-management of forest resources. Our approach focuses on community-led restoration, capacity building on agroforestry, innovation platforms, and valuation of climate information.
