Bastoni is a Senior Researcher in Silviculture at BP2LHK in Palembang. His background is in soil science and environmental management. He has over 25 years’ experience in forest restoration and rehabilitation finding silviculture techniques and selecting appropriate species for degraded landscape restoration in South Sumatra, Indonesia. His research areas focus specifically on lowland tropical rainforest rehabilitation, peat swamp forest rehabilitation, and peatland restoration.
