Lindsay C. Stringer

Lindsay C. Stringer is Professor in Environment and Development in the Department of Environment and Geography at the University of York, UK. Her research uses interdisciplinary approaches at the nexus of environmental sustainability and human development, working largely in African drylands. In 2014 Lindsay was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize for her work on dryland sustainable development, and in 2017 she received a Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award. She has published more than 200 journal articles and book chapters, and is an author for both the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
