Márcio Augusto Freitas Meira

Historian and anthropologist at the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, in Belém, Pará. He is a professor in the Graduate Program in Sociocultural Diversity (PPGDS) of the same institution. PhD in Social Memory from UNIRIO. He conducts research on indigenous history and indigenism in the Amazon, especially among the peoples of the Aruak, Tukano, and Naduhup language groups of the Negro River. He was president of Funai from 2007 to 2012.
