CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Paul Luu

Dr Paul Luu is Executive Secretary of the international initiative 4 per 1000, launched on 1 December
2015 at COP 21, to federate all voluntary stakeholders of the public and private sectors relating to
food security and climate (national governments, local and regional governments, companies,
farmer and forestry organizations, non-governmental organizations, research facilities, etc.). The aim
of the initiative is to demonstrate that agriculture, and in particular agricultural soils, can play a
crucial role where food security and climate change are concerned.
