Babita is a highly specialized professional with extensive expertise in integrated research and development. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned international organizations such as ICIMOD, ILRI, ICRAF, GIZ, and IFAD, contributing significantly to the advancement of sustainable agriculture in underserved communities within developing countries. Her diverse skill set encompasses sustainable farming systems, agroforestry systems, fodder trees and shrubs, integrated systems involving trees, crops, livestock, and bioenergy, as well as rangeland resource management, ecosystem services, biodiversity, value chains, and livelihood issues. These focal points are consistently reflected in the various assignments she has undertaken.

Babita has assumed diverse roles and responsibilities, including project management and coordination, proposal development, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, partnerships, gender studies, baseline survey studies, participatory rural appraisals (PRAs), strategic planning, and project execution.

In addition, Babita has published about 28 publications, 13 research papers published in national and international journals, one book (in the Bestsellers list in 2009), 10 Abstracts, 5 Book Chapters, blogs, newsletters, and a documentary (short movie).
