Gopal Krishna is a trained geoinformatics and geosciences programmer, specializing in geospatial big-data mining and geospatial cloud computing. Gopal holds a Ph.D. degree in Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing, and Data Science specialization from IIT Roorkee. Gopal Krishna has gained experience in advanced analysis techniques like machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence techniques, and advanced modeling for natural resources management through Geoinformatics. He has been instrumental in the implementation of projects funded by the Asian Development Bank, FAO, NASA-ISRO, World Bank, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and Indian ministries of Science & Technology, and Agriculture, covering geoinformatics-based sustainable agricultural practices and climate change studies in South, East, and Central Asia. He has served as a researcher, scientist, manager, and technical lead in his 14-year career and has published over 60 research articles, manuals, and tools. He has also been instrumental in capacity development activities by imparting various trainings to international participants.
