Mitigating risks of disease transmission in the wild meat food chain from forest to fork in Cameroon

This dataset contains the data underlying the project “Mitigating risks of disease transmission in the wild meat food chain from forest to fork in Cameroon.” Data were collected between October and November 2022 using structured surveys administered via Kobo Collect. The dataset comprises two components: (1) a survey of hunters and food preparers, and (2) a survey of vendors operating in three markets. Together, these data capture attitudes and practices related to wild meat handling across the food chain, including hunting, processing, preparation, sale, and consumption behaviors, as well as relevant contextual and demographic information where applicable. The data have been cleaned and reviewed for consistency, and any identifying information has been removed to ensure respondent confidentiality. This dataset can be used to replicate study findings and to support further research on zoonotic disease risk and food safety practices in wild meat value chains.
