Western Amazon Household Baseline

This study consists of sex-disaggregated data and other related materials generated as part of the Sentinel Landscapes Network household survey baseline in Western Amazon sentinel site in Peru and Bolivia. A total of 677 households were surveyed in September to December 2014 and January to February 2015 from 30 villages namely: Fitzcarrald, San Bernardo, Las Mercedes, Victor Raul Haya Del La Torre, Los Cedros, Tahuantinsuyo, Monte Sinai, Los Manantiales, La Torre, Baltimore, Comunidad Nativa Sinchi Roca, Caserio Bajo Shiringal, Caserio Nuevo Huanuco, Caserio Nueva Bellavistal, Caserio Nuevo Ucayali, Centro Poblado San Juan Bautista, Caserio Alto Shiringal, Caserio Villa El Salvador, Caserio Nuevo Horizonte, Caserio Buenos Aires, Soberania, El Chorro, Espiritu, Petronila, Holanda, Ucia, Buyuyo, Limon, 10 De Noviembre, Empresina. The data consists of information on household demographics, migration, education, asset ownership, income sources, household food security, progress out of poverty, crop production and sales, livestock products, participation in credit markets, social networks, and natural resource use. In compliance with the CGIAR protocol on collecting sex-disaggregated data, approximately 50% of the respondents interviewed were women.
