Implementation of Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) in Taita Taveta County
Taita Taveta County’s Forest and Landscape Restoration Plan (FOLAREP 2024–2033) aims to restore 226,420 hectares of degraded land -13% of the county’s total area - as part of Kenya’s broader restoration and climate commitments. The initiative envisions a KES 30.9 billion (USD 238.6 million) investment to transform degraded ecosystems into resilient, productive landscapes that sustain people, nature, and the economy.
