Dr Gopal Krishna is a geoinformatics and geosciences specialist at CIFOR-ICRAF, with expertise in geospatial big data mining, cloud computing, and advanced spatial modelling for natural resource management. His work integrates machine learning, artificial intelligence and geospatial technologies tosupport sustainable agriculture and climate change research. Over the past 14 years, Dr Krisna hasserved as a researcher, scientist, manager and technical lead. He has contributed to projects funded by international agencies including the Asian Development Bank, FAO, NASA-ISRO, the World Bank, SIDA and the Government of India. These projects have focused on geoinformatics-based solutions for sustainable agricultural practices and climate resilience across South, East and Central Asia.He holds a PhD in geoinformatics and remote sensing, with a specialization in data science from theIndian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. He has published more than 60 research articles and tools related to geospatial science and its application to environmental sustainability.
