Monitoring

Monitoring

Mangrove restoration in Sungsang IV and Marga Sungsang village is conducted using a grid system. The action arena is divided into grids with size 20m x 20m. There are currently 338 grids under monitoring. Monitoring is conducted to monitor the survival (by census) and growth (by sampling) of mangrove seedlings. Mangrove survival monitoring is conducted once a month, while growth monitoring is done once every three months.

During monitoring, trained community members take measurements in the field and then input the measurements onto data forms. The data is then submitted to a cloud database using the Android-based CBRMS application. Community-Based Restoration Monitoring System (CBRMS) was designed to provide near real-time monitoring data. Once data is submitted from the field, the cloud database will update automatically, and the online dashboard will automatically calculate the new data and update the information in the CBRMS Interactive Dashboard.
