High-integrity forest carbon markets: from global stock-taking to advancing science
Trustworthy forest carbon accounting can support all stakeholders working in the Article 6 and Global Stocktake arenas. This interactive session sheds light on data, accessibility, transparency and accountability for efficient, effective and just transactions and fair assessments. It brings together globally leading experts to:
- share the latest scientific findings on the effectiveness of forest carbon projects
- strengthen the community of practice to foster learning and collaboration amongst scientists and practitioners in refining and improving the measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) system for forest mitigation policies
- discuss the challenges and prospective solutions in moving towards high-integrity forest carbon credits and effective forest-based mitigation of climate change
