Natural resource use, constraints and possible interventions: the case of Kandaria West focal point, Nyando district

A participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was conducted with 41 members of Kandaria village to identify environmental, economic, infrastructural, and institutional constraints to optimal natural resources utilization in the area. It was also intended to identify possible interventions to improve land management practices and ultimately to have maximum impact on reducing pollution into lake Victoria. Sectoral and overall community constraints and possible interventions were identified in farm forestry, crops, soils, water, livestock, and local institutions as reported below.
