Conservation Agriculture With Trees (CAWT) is a practice that combines the principles of Conservation Agriculture with Agroforestry. CAWT involves the integration of cropfriendly trees mainly high value agroforestry tree species and nitrogen fixing trees into the crop land with Conservation Agriculture practices. Conservation Agriculture (CA) is defined by FAO as an approach to managing agroecosystems for improved and sustained productivity increased profits and food security while preserving and enhancing the resource base and the environment.
