Many developing countries mainly in Africa depend on charcoal - although it leads to depletion of forests and causes more emissions than flying globally. But charcoal has undeservedly bad reputation and enormous potential says Mary Njenga a researcher at the World Agroforestry Center in Nairobi Kenya.
