Advancing business engagement in a landscape approach

Watch this Discussion Forum on the second day of the Global Landscapes Forum 2014, in Lima, Peru, during COP20. New multi-stakeholder landscape initiatives are emerging as an operational framework to address key risks such as deforestation and water scarcity, and support economic growth, food production, ecosystem conservation, and livelihoods across entire landscapes. However, a crucial player in these issues – business, serving local, national and international markets – has been largely absent. This session explores the business case for public-private partnerships in landscape management, and also looks at the enabling environment for supporting such practices and the potential for scaling-up impact through increased private sector participation in the future.ModeratorHayo HaanstraSenior Policy Officer for Agriculture and Innovation,Ministry of Economic Affairs, The NetherlandsSpeakersLee GrossSenior ManagerEcoAgriculture PartnersEdit KissDirector of Business Development and Operations Althelia EcosphereMagda LoveiPractice Manager for Environment & Natural ResourcesWorld Bank, Africa RegionEdward MillardDirector of Strategic PartnershipsRainforest AllianceJuan Pablo SolisProgram OfficerHivosCarlos ZapataHead of Strategy and PlanningRio TintoSunday, 7 December 2014Global Landscapes Forum, Lima, Peru#COP20GLF #ThinkLandscapeFor more information go to: www.landscapes.org
