CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Women and forests: research for change

For more information please visit http://www.cifor.org/gender/home.htmlWomen are often excluded from the decision making process in their communities because of social barriers; logistical barriers; the rules governing community forestry; and male bias in the attitudes of those promoting community forestry initiatives. CIFOR has been doing research on the differences between genders and the effects it has on these communities. This video demonstrates the importance of women's roles in their community and questions how they might be better represented in the future.See more publications on Forests and Genderhttp://www.cifor.org/gender/publications/thematicpublications.html
