CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Making forest information systems work for REDD+ and beyond

Watch this discussion forum from the second day of the Global Landscapes Forum 2014, in Lima, Peru, during COP20. More and more countries have established and institutionalized sustainable, long-term and multi-purpose information systems in the context of REDD+ to support well-informed national policy formulation and decision making at different levels, and to meet national and international reporting needs. This panel discusses if they are used beyond estimating carbon stocks, how they improve global estimates and information, and how they can be most cost effective.Speakers:María José Sanz SanchezUN-REDD Programme CoordinatorFAO Giacomo GrassiScientific OfficerJoint Research Centre of the Institute for Environment and Sustainability Lucio SantosCoordinatorStrengthening Capacities on REDD+ and South-South Cooperation, MexicoNur MasripatinDirector, Centre for Standardization and EnvironmentMinistry of Forestry, IndonesiaDeuteronomy KasaroSenior Forestry Extension Officer and National REDD+ Coordinator Forestry Department, ZambiaSunday, 7 December 2014Global Landscapes Forum, Lima, Peru#COP20GLF #ThinkLandscapeFor more information go to: www.landscapes.org
