Description

The Ecosystem-Based Adaptation Project, funded by the GCF and UNEP and implemented by the Government of Benin, aims to strengthen the capacities of rural communities in the communes of Dassa-Zoumé , Tchaourou , Banikoara , Djougou , Ouaké , Boukombé and Cobly against the harmful effects of climate change. ICRAF provides technical support to the "Ministère du Cadre de Vie et des Transports en charge du Développement Durable" in Benin.

Through the technical support from ICRAF, the PABE project is expected to achieve the below 3 results.
Result 1: 3,600 hectares of land restored for benefits related to energy and livelihoods;
Result 2: Increased agricultural productivity: agricultural livelihoods are secure in the face of climate change; and
Result 3: Strengthened the technical and institutional capacities of government and communities for the implementation of EbA and climate resilient agriculture, and increased awareness of the benefits of adaptation.
