Although the issue of simplified modalities and procedures for small scale projects was not initially discussed in the context of Land use change and forestry (LULUCF) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects it however received interest particularly from countries in Africa and Central America. The SBSTA decision on forest CDM projects at COP9 now includes reference to small scale projects.
