CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Regreening Africa a flagship for the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration

CIFOR-ICRAF CEO Éliane Ubalijoro spoke at the Gala of Hope at the Sixth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), where Regreening Africa was recognized as a UN World Restoration Flagship by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Regreening Africa is restoring ecosystems in 8 countries and improving the resilience of 500,000 households across sub-Saharan Africa. It uses a community-centred and research-based agroforestry and sustainable land management approach. It’s an initiative led by CIFOR-ICRAF in partnership with CARE Nederland, Catholic Relief Services, Oxfam, Sahel Eco, and World Vision Australia with funding from the European Union.
