Marianne Johansen is Team Leader for Climate and Forest at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Jakarta. She oversees the Embassy’s engagement in the Norwegian-Indonesian Letter of Intent on Cooperation on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. Johansen moved to Indonesia in 2019 coming from a three year posting at the Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She has many years’ experience from working in Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative at the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment in Oslo. Johansen holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Stockholm University.
